Split Pea Soup With Ham (Slow Cooker)

This is my most favorite Split-Pea Soup With Ham ever! I always make this soup in the slow cooker. Sometimes, i will used bacon instead of ham. Ingredients (8 servings)For ingredients, you shall prepare 1 package of dried split peas (rinsed), 1 meaty hambone, 2 ham hocks or cups of diced ham, 3 carrots (peeled and sliced), 0.5 cup of chopped onion, 2 ribs of celery (chopped), 2 clove garlic (minced), 1 bay leaf, 1/4 cup fresh parsley (chopped), 1 tablespoon of salt (or to taste), 1/2 teaspoon of fresh pepper, 1.5 quart of hot water. The Making Put in all ingredients in slow cooker. Cover and cook for 4-5 hours over high heat and 8-10 hours over low heat, until all peas are soft. Discard bones and bay leaf. Mash peas to thicken the soup more if desire. Garnish with crouton before serve. Freeze well.
