Pea Soup Recipe

Split Peas soup recipes are one of the world's most comforting dishes.

This Delicious & Healthy Pea-Soup Recipe was given by my buddies, melissa Tan. She is my best friend and we have the same hobby - Cooking! :)

I really love this soup very much, it is really taste good and it is great for Lunch or Dinner.

Homemade Pea Soup Recipe

Ingredients

2 cups of Split peas (rinsed), 5 cups of Chicken , 1 Carrot (peeled & chopped), 1 Celery stalk (chopped), 1 Onion (finely chopped), 3 Garlic gloves (finely chopped), 6 cups of Water, 1 teaspoon of Sugar (Optional item), 2 teaspoons of lemon juice, 1 Bay leaf,  Seasoning : Salt & pepper to taste, 1 dash of Parsley, thyme, marjoram and cayenne pepper each.

The Making

1). Prepare a soup pot, pour in water including peas. Bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer for about 1.5 hour until peas are tender & soft.

2). Add in stock, celery, onion, carrot, garlic, sugar, lemon juice, bay leaf and all spice. Bring to boil again, reduce heat and simmer for another half an hour until carrot are tender.

3). Discard bay leaf. Let's the soup cool for 10 minutes, puree in a blender until smooth as desired. Serve. Pea Soup is a hearty soup and makes a great lunch or light dinner with just a piece of good bread or a salad. This is my favorite soup and i believe you will love it too.

Easy Pea Soup Recipe

Ingredients

2 cups of Split peas, 5 cups of Chicken stock, 6 cups of Cold water, 1 Carrot (chopped), 1 Onion (finely chopped), 1 Celery stalk (chopped), 1 Clove Garlic (finely chopped), 2 teaspoons of Lemon juice, 1 Bay leaf, 1 teaspoon of Sugar, Seasoning : salt & pepper to taste, Dash of parsley, marjoram, thyme and cayenne pepper.

The Making

1). Prepare a soup pot, place in peas including cold water. Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer for about 1.5 hours until split peas are tender.

2). Add stock, celery, carrot, onion, garlic, sugar, bay leaf, lemon juice and all spice. Bring to boil again, reduce heat and simmer for half an hour again.

3). Discard the bay leaf. Let it cool. Pour into blender, process smooth. Serve. Yummy!!
