Ham and Lentil Soup

Ingredients

1 leftover smoked ham bone or 2 smoked ham hocks, 1 pound of lentil (picked over and rinsed), 0.5 pound of mushrooms (chopped), 3 onions (peeled and coarsely chopped), 1 cup of carrot (peeled and chopped), 1 cup of celery (chopped), 1 cinnamon stick, 3.5 cups of beef broth, 8 cups of water.

The Making

Prepare a soup pot, put in all ingredients, cover the lid, bring to simmer for about 1.5 hours. Stir occasionally. Discard cinnamon stick and bay leaf. Remove the meat from bones and hocks. Chop the meat into bite size piece and return to soup. Serve hot.


Ham and White Bean Soup

Ingredients

(8 servings)

For ingredient, you shall prepare for 1 pound of white beans (Canellini or Great Northern), 2 quarts of water, 2-3 pounds of ham shank (each shank cut into 2 section), 1 cup of onion (peeled and diced), 1 cup of celery (chopped), 1 cup of carrot (peeled and chopped), 2 cloves garlic (diced), Tabasco sauce, salt and pepper, Herbes de Provence, Fresh parsley.

The Making

Firstly, soak the beans in water for at least 2 hours. Drain the water.

Prepare a large soup pot, put in ham shank piece and cover with water. Bring to simmer for about 1 hour. Add in chopped beans and veggies. Cook for additional 1 hour until all veggies are tender.

Add few drops of Tabasco or to taste. Add in salt and pepper to taste. Add a pinch of herbes de Provence. Garnish with parsley before serve.


Quick & Delicious Ham Soup

A quick and delicious ham soup, you shall only spend less than half an hour to cook this soup..great for those in busy lifestyle...yummy!

Ingredients

(6 servings)

Well, for ingredients, you shall prepare for 1 cup of fresh cauliflower (cut into bite size piece), 1 cup of broccoli (cut into bite size pieces), 1 can of chicken broth (14.5 oz), 1 can of condensed cream of chicken soup (10.75 oz - undiluted), 1 cup of half @ half, 1/8 tsp of white pepper, 2 tbsp of cornstarch, 1/4 cup of cold water, 2 cups of cooked ham (cubed)

The Making

Firstly, prepare a saucepan, pour in chicken broth and cauliflower, cook for 5 minutes. Add in cream of chicken soup, half & half cream, white pepper.

Meanwhile, Prepare a small bowl, mix in cornstarch and water, stir well. Pour the cornstarch mixture into soup. Bring soup to boil for about 2 minutes. Reduce heat, add ham and cook for another 2 minutes. Serve hot.
