Beef Barley Soup

This Beef-Barley Soup Recipe was given by one of my best friend, Albert Y. It's destined to become one of your favorites.I love this soup to be thicker, so, i add in more barley.
Ingredients 1 tablespoon of olive oil, 1 pat of butter, 1 carrot (peeled and chopped), 1 celery (chopped), 1 onion (peeled and chopped), salt, pepper, basil, oregano, garlic powder to taste, 2-3 cups of cooked beef (chopped), a splash of Worcestershire sauce (optional item), 8 cups of beef stock or broth, 1 large can of diced tomatoes including liquid, 1 cup of dry pearl barley. The Making Prepare a saucepan, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat, saute carrot, onion and celery until tender. Add salt to taste. Add beef, basil, oregano, garlic powder. Cook for few minutes. Add in Worcestershire sauce and remaining ingredients, bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer for about 1 hour until barley are soft.
